Essential Moves has been operating in Newcastle since 2005. All our programmes are based on the premise that higher order learning has its start with foundational experiences from birth. The first 2 years particularly, are important for beginning sensory integration, which helps with higher order thinking skills.

• gross motor skills are important for balance and lead to better control for fine motor tasks eg writing
• balance is also important for good eye control and reading
• retained primitive reflexes can inhibit optimal learning if not integrated and are related to learning issues such as mirror writing, reversals, fidgety behaviour and reading issues.
• auditory processing is important for following instructions, phonics and social skills

All our teachers are university trained and highly experienced.

After a comprehensive assessment, we design an individual learning programme for your child and they work one to one with a teacher to get excellent results. Starting with foundational issues and following through with traditional tutoring where needed.
