BIOMEDICINE

Many of the children we see that are struggling at school, also have underlying biomedical issues. When we assess a child, we also look at these "physical" symptoms and if warranted refer on to the relevant specialist. Unfortunately, we see many parents who have spent lots of money trying to find and answer. Often they did not get great results, because they addressed issues in the wrong order (not at the right time). It is imperative that all interventions are done at the correct stage of development to get maximum results. We assess the child,and in consultation with the family act as a "case manager" if other intervention is required. Who else might be involved?

• biomedical - looking for imbalances that can cause fidgety behaviour, learning problems etc
• structural- specialist to make sure the body is aligned and all "messages" are flowing through the CNS
• therapies- vision, speech,OT,behavioural
• academic- tutoring
